Why haven't I shared these yet!? Queen's bath was the one place I had on our list that I HAD to see. Also, I advise you to read this whole post because it contains a very embarrassing wave story :)
Queen's Bath is located on the North shore of Kauai in Princeville and you have to hike down by a waterfall to get to the flat lava rock before getting to the bath area. And let me tell you, it was beyond beautiful!! Not only was the water so blue and gorgeous, but there were sea turtles swimming around which is basically my dream come true. Sadly I'm afraid of heights and it was low and wavy enough that there was no way I was going to jump in, but there are "kiddie pools," as I called them, that you didn't have to jump off a cliff to get into haha. Austin, his sister Anna, and his dad were of course brave enough to jump in, I'm just a baby. But don't worry, I had my own little adventure short after ;) Further down the coast you could climb down a little lower and swim in a pool enclosed by the lava rock. Swimming around, taking in the views and taking family pictures with some cute little waves that would wash in every now and then. Austin and I had just taken a picture together and I noticed a wave that looked a little bit bigger coming in so we crouched down. I'm dumb enough to turn a little as to maybe get out of the way. However, the wave hits Austin (mind the fact that he didn't budge) then it hits me, picks me up and throws and drags me onto the rocks about 5 feet away. Dragging my legs on the rocks and holding on for dear life as I was swallowed by the wave, all I could think was "NOT my face" and that possibly my shin bone would be visible when I rose up from the dead hahaha. I immediately came up yelling "I'm OKAY!!" Because I somehow was, but my legs sure didn't look like it. Everyone standing up on the higher area was in shock and left because I'm sure it scared them half to death hahahah! Purple, swollen, and bleeding from the knees down but honestly I was so embarrassed that I didn't care about the blood. We are all still mad there wasn't a video of it happening because it was just too funny and of course it happened to me. Here we are about a month later and I just have two little scars and one bruise on that shin (okay not all the feeling is back but who cares), not sure how it wasn't worse but blessed about it, and now I have a hilarious story to share forever!! I thought about posting the after picture but thought naw, people don't want to see that sight ;) AKA go to Queen's bath when in Kauai, and you won't regret it, just don't turn your back on the ocean. Happy Sunday loves! xx
