Today I wanted to talk to you all about a very special place that is a bit new to Northwest Arkansas. Growing up, there was always talk about people having to go all the way to Little Rock for specialty, children's medical needs. As of two years ago, we proudly have Arkansas Children's Hospital Northwest located in Springdale, AR! And let me tell you, they have an amazing facility and resources with equally amazing staff that care deeply about each and every patient that comes through their doors. Arkansas Children’s is a comprehensive healthcare system designed specifically for kids. It includes two nationally ranked hospitals, a cutting-edge research facility, many outpatient clinics and education/outreach programs that reach children in every corner of the state. Truly an amazing organization that has been providing care for over 100 years! It’s not just for life-threatening injuries or illness – the new hospital in Springdale offers quick, easy access for primary care, routine diagnostics (x-ray, etc.) and common childhood surgeries (ear tubes, tonsils, etc.). I knew of many kids and teens or families with children that needed the special care of a children's hospital in NWA. Families would have to drive hours to spend time getting the care they needed and financial support to keep their children healthy. How sad!? I'm so happy to know that someday when Austin and I have kids there will be a place close to home that if the unimaginable (or even just sick) happens to a child there will be amazing care close to home. Arkansas Children's Northwest is more than just an emergency hospital and someday, I will not think twice about having regular doctors appointments there! All their focus is on children's needs vs adult which can make a major difference in the kind of care that can be offered. Also, everything is so fun and colorful, kids can't help but be excited and fell comfortable right when they come through the front doors. They even have a beautiful garden area outside to catch some fresh air and smell the flowers. Want to donate to research for Arkansas Children's foundation??

I hate that some people think they are better than others when they stay away from social media. I think while it's not perfect, there really is nothing wrong with social media as a whole. We only need to learn how to close our eyes and ears to things that will not really benefit us. I felt really uncomfortable hearing how successful someone is. I felt envious and I felt guilty about being envious. It's not even the nature of man to be envious. We need to have this innate abundance mentality. Yet we are so empty we can't help but feel envious when someone else is succeeding. Do we close our ears? No. We take it as constructive criticism, why we don't have that. We work positively towards it.
