A moment of pure bliss before seeing literally the BIGGEST mosquito of my life and running back to the car!!
When you don't want to do anything on Sunday because you know you have too much to do on Monday... that's me right now. I watched more tv this weekend than I have in ages and I have no shame! Catching up on Scandal, laughing at the sweetness of the British Baking Show, and a couple of movies added up reallll quick haha. I also perused the Nordstrom Sale today and got a little bit excited for Fall. It'll be here before we know it! I love summer but it's just too dang hot here right now if you are not by the pool or at the lake.
I wore this Amuse Society dress a few weekends ago in Kansas City because I wanted to be as cool as possible and it totally came through! I love how light and simple the shape is for summer. Perfect to throw on with a bralette and go. My kinda dress! Cute with sandals, sneakers, or my favorite, some Marc Fisher espadrille wedges :)
Day 1 in Kauai and I couldn't get over this islands beauty!! Chickens and flowers everywhere you look with mountains on your left and the beach on your right... oh and don't forget the rainbows :) I've been wanting to go to Hawaii for as long as I can remember. It's just a whole other world over there! Everyone is so relaxed and happy, eating fruit, and walking barefoot. Lemme tell ya, my kind of place!!
I searched forever for the perfect cover-up. I didn't want something boring and cheap, but I didn't want to spend $100 on something I'd wear for a little and throw in a bag later. This kimono is perfect! You can wear it open front with cute denim shorts, over a simple dress, or like I did with my bikini. Lightweight and breezy with perfect little tassels! I got this one at Marshall's for like $15 but I linked some super similar ones.
Stay tuned for a lot more of what we did and what I wore in Hawaii!! XX
When in doubt, always add a pop of color. Wearing color boosts your mood and those around you! I love wearing a fun colorful print with white denim to balance out the look. I wear these Citizens all. the. time. and I can't get enough of them.
I took these pics a little while ago and now that I'm looking at my hair, I can't decided whether or not I should grow them out or not!! Hair length is always an inner battle with me, and now it's not just the normal, but bangs added on top of the decision war. Help!!I do think that I probably want to chop it off again... we'll see haha.
On Monday, I leave for HAWAII!!! I've been so pumped for this and my head has been on vacation mode since last Monday at work, oops. I'm ready for some salty air and new adventures with my man!
I hope everyone has a wonderful, warm weekend :)
I'm loving wide pants right now, and I especially love a fun pant with a cute little graphic tee! I found this outfit at Forever 21 for under $40, you can't beat that. I was actually there on a mission to find pants (like these) to wear for work and then found way too many other summer items that I "really needed" haha. Who else can find an excuse way too easy to buy something they came across and never knew they needed? ;)
I don’t talk a ton about my fitness routine in this little world of mine, but today I am diving in a little to share how I like to keep a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
Do I make it to the gym everyday? Nope. Sometimes life just gets too dang busy to even go a few times a week. My goal is to hit the gym 4 times a week and at least be active in some way everyday. I just plain feel better when I get to move around!
If I’m too lazy to drive to the gym, I try to go for a run (weather dependent because I’m way too picky) or do a couple yoga sessions from Boho Beautiful’s YouTube channel - LOVE her!! I like to start out with a quick cardio and then focus on one area of the body with weights. I also have a solid cardio day once or twice a week. On the days I just can’t make myself, it’s because I realize that I actually need a day of rest more than I need to run a mile. It’s just as important.
I’m going to be honest here. One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to be able to do pull-ups… real ones. I have the smallest wimpy arms and once I quit dance I wasn’t able to do one anymore!! After working on it I can now say I can do a pull-up, or two ;)
Now to the other side of my balance. Food! I’ve never been someone who loves food and loves to eat; not that I don’t have my favorites I could eat all the time. I just never saw it as a form of entertainment, and maybe that’s why I can never make a decision on where we should go to eat haha.
Now that I cook more on my own, I like to focus on making sure I get enough protein, cut out more salt and sugar, but always, ALWAYS treat my self every now and then. You can’t be eating veggies all the time and not give yourself a break because that’s when a diet or lifestyle comes to a crash. Mix it up and have fun with it but don’t go over board, because that is what actually works.
And my #1 tip: Cute workout clothes. It works every. Single. Time.
We're in Mexico!! Just kidding, we wish!! But how adorable is this little spot in Fayetteville? It's crazy how you can find so much more when out walking around then just driving by places.
Who else struggles to find maxi dresses that are the right length? Either too long or too short, but Banana republic has it down! Probably because they also offer petites and tall so they don't have to go overboard with their regular sizing in length. I love this floral maxi with the pop of pink. I also love olive tones and bring them out extra during the summer. I guess it's something about how it looks with a tan... but doesn't every color haha?
I know I have been a little MIA the past couple of weeks, but you guys will know why soon and life will be starting to settle down a little bit within the next week, which means more content! Woo!!
