It's the new distressed denim trend all over social media and Pinterest! It adds a little edge to your look and draws attention to your shoes. I have had these jeans for awhile now and have been too lazy to get them hemmed so I normally just cuff them, which is fine, but sometimes that doesn't fit my look. So I decided to try and give them the raw, uneven hem! No need for alterations if your jeans are too long this season!
Follow my easy step-by-step for a quick and free alteration to vamp up your denim game!
Here is what you need: Jeans (duh!), fabric scissors, measuring tape, seam ripper (if you have a tough side seam or for extra fray), and a chalk pencil or some kind of marker.
Choose your perfect pair of jeans, slim boot, boyfriends, skinny, whatever you want. I went with skinny because that is what I needed altered.
Try them on and mark with chalk the length you want in the back (longer) and in the front (shorter)
Cut up the side seam on the front of the jeans about 1/2 to 1 inch depending on how you like it
Cut straight across the front hem
Cut across the back hem but not as high as the first, fray the bottom by either pulling it apart a little or washing them.
You're done!! Easy peasy and super cute!! I hope you enjoy your new jeans ;)
