When I am bored and iced in the house with nothing else to do, I guess it's time to play dress up and cozy in for the day. I get so bored being home all day, even just for one day. Unless it's on a work day and we are snowed in (which NEVER happens) I am fine. Just something about being stuck inside when I could be out doing things on the weekend. Not that I will ever pass up some extra snuggle time with Maui.
This H&M sweater might just be my favorite. Ever. I need it in every single color. It's the perfect "over-sized" style but not overwhelming on my petite figure or scratchy on my sensitive skin. Perfectly paired with my favorite pants this season from Urban Outfitters, I could be an outfit repeater in this one way too often! Or switch it up. I love this sweater with a midi skirt or high waisted jeans of basically any fit. Such an easier sweater!
I hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead wrapping up January 2020.... HOW? WHAT!? Time flies!!
I can't get enough of the leaves and I can't get enough of this dress!! Shoutout to Austin, he picked this out for me for our 6 year anniversary (OMG SIX) and I'm obsessed with it because a.) it's Free People and b.) it's floral AND polka dot!! Ugh, he just gets me :)
Today I wanted to hop on here and talk about finding balance in your life. It's so, so important to make this a priority in your life. Even small steps toward balance can bring you happiness and content. The other day I heard a quote that really hit home with me:
"Balance is not something you find, it's something you create."
Here are a few tips on how to create more balance in your daily life:
1.) Health: Not just physical health, but mind and spirit too! Give yourself a break when you feel like life has been getting crazy, even if you have to just give yourself some alone time from the world. This helps me refresh more than anything!
I don't always eat super healthy, but I don't always eat take out. If I felt bad about what I ate earlier in the day, I try to make sure I find time to hit the gym. If I eat super healthy the next day, I sometimes give myself a break. My favorite way to balance healthy eating is by eating a healthy breakfast and lunch and then enjoying myself at dinner after a long day (but not going too crazy haha).
2.) Work: Having a good work life balance is super challenging when you don't draw a line. I'm that girl that would rather be early or on time to work than roll in late and have to stay at the office late finishing things up. I take time management seriously so that when I'm out of the office I can do whatever the heck I want and not have to worry about what I needed to finish!
3.) Setting Goals: At the beginning of each week, I sit down and write down my goals for the week in my agenda planner. Gym goals, blog goals, even me time goals. Being able to check off a list helps me to accomplish things and keeps me reminded of why I wanted to do a certain thing in the first place. Setting realistic goals is also incredibly important; sometimes you just need to start with your priorities.
Creating balance is hard, but with baby steps, your growth as an individual leads to security in your mental peace and well being. Try and start tomorrow with one part of your balance, and see how it slowly brings peace into every aspect of your life! You've got this girl!
The mountains in Fraser were too beautiful and Austin and I kept wanting to stop and take pictures haha, especially the colorful sunsets. But we try to not be those people just taking pics 24/7 while traveling because we want to truly relax and enjoy where we are :) Right after we took these pictures we had a real nice dinner - drive-through McDonald's (is it even a road trip if you don't get it at least once) and took it to the condo to enjoy a relaxing night in.
When I saw this fringe sweater I knew I HAD to bring it to Colorado! It's going to be the first winter item I pull out next season and I already know I will be wearing it a ton. I love that it has the belle sleeve and a loose mock turtle neck for maximum coziness. I also can't pass up a good black pair of denim and love how stretchy and comfy these are!
This. Beanie. is on sale now too! Gigi Pip has the softest hat's I have ever worn and I'm obsessed with the huge pom-pom on this one. Use my code HSFREESHIP to get free shipping on your next order, all of the new spring hats are too dang cute!
Happy Tuesday Loves!
Happy New Year! Holy cannoli was 2017 a huge and crazy year!! I am so thankful for all of the experiences and adventures that came along in the last year and I cannot wait for what is in store for 2018! I have a feeling it's going to be a good one. Hopefully even more travel and a lot more blog content :) I also really want to be more open in trying new things weather that is trying new foods (oooo or cooking classes), or pushing myself past some of my fears because I am such a wimp.
My main resolution this year is to slow down. Not to slow down life and all that it has in store for me, but with daily things. Sometimes I find myself rushed to get ready for work in the morning, or when I am at the gym. I think even if I give myself 10 more minutes in the morning, I would be able to slow down and enjoy that time a little more. I love being able to have a relaxed morning because I feel like that sets the tone for the entire day. I'm not necessarily a morning person, so this will be a challenge, but I'm willing to go for it!
Now that I won't be bogged down with school and homework in the evenings, I hope to be able to be more present in my life and with others. Finding quality time with friends and loved ones will definitely be high on my list!
If I was a sweater, I'd be this one. I saw it on H&M while Christmas shopping and couldn't pass it up. Who else does that while shopping for others haha? I'm obsessed with all of the chunky and unique sweaters right now; the perfect cozy statement for this awfully cold weather! You can shop both mine and Austins looks below :)

It's Black Friday and you all know what that means! Almost Christmas!! Not that I wanted to skip over Thanksgiving but lets face it, holiday shopping is on everyone's minds at this point. And do I have a treat for my readers :) If you have been following me since last fall, you might remember that I teamed up with JORD Wood Watches for the holidays, you can read it here, and know how much I love watches. I wear them so often that it feels weird when I don't have one on!
I think this watch (the Cora Zebrawood & Turquoise) is so stinkin' cute and classy with the Swarovski crystal accents and the blue face (it also comes in pink!). It is 100% natural wood with a beautiful finish to protect it from water splashes too. It's the perfect timepiece for transitioning from Fall to Winter. I couldn't help but pair it with my new favorite teddy coat and velvet mules from Free People. I have a feeling this whole outfit will be on repeat way too much this season haha! This watch is the perfect addition to any holiday attire and adds a little extra glam to go from a family get together during the day to a dinner party at night.
Follow this link here to get 25% OFF your next watch and win the gift game this year! They also offer custom engraving and the most beautiful keepsake box as shown above. They are seriously the perfect gift for that someone special weather it's your significant other, the sweetest mother, or your deserving best friend.
Happy Shopping and Happy Holidays!
Thank you JORD for sponsoring this post!
I think the world's cutest laundromat should be awarded to the Sit & Spin here in Fayetteville. I mean come on, how cute and fun is this!? They also have a little restaurant area to chill at and drink champagne while you wait. AND each laundry machine was named! How stinkin' cute is that!?
I am loving this cropped, wide-leg trend right now. I especially love them with booties or mules like these Jeffrey Campbell ones! There are just so many ways to style wide-leg pants too, especially for fall. With an oversized sweater, fitted tee or body suit, oh, and super cute with bomber jackets! When I was doing my usual and grabbing a coffee at Puritan's I saw this camp tee from Fayettechill and couldn't pass it up! I had these pants on and had to change and put it on the minute I left haha :) Just a fun little look I had to share with you all! Challenge yourself to go outside of the box with these pants and how you style them, you can't go wrong!
